![]() The Touch 5th and 6th generations also have a very responsive feel. I have been using Apple products for years and yes, maybe nothing seems to beat the iPod Touch interface, due to the screen clarity and ease of use. You can have potentially limitless storage, except unlike MiniDiscs, swapping them out means you still have to let the device scan the contents and build the library. Some people prefer swapping large microSD cards as they drag and drop files into them than one large HDD. Most DAPs (except the first A&K's) have output impedance at 5ohms or lower. A DAP would spit out around the same power as some portable amps.Ĥ. Fiio M3 even with an integrated DAC-HPamp chip still spits out 50mW at 16ohms, Fiio X1 produces 100mW at 16ohms, Fiio X3 spits out around 200mW.iPod if I remember right has around 5mW to 15mW. DAPs use a circuit that is more like what you'd find in a Marantz CDP - DAC, analogue output op-amps, headphone driver op-amp (Marantz uses the same Philps chip in the Fiio E9, but the circuit doesn't pour as much power into the headphone).ģ. iPod uses a DAC and headphone amp chip, but it's not even as good as more recent integrated chips. closest thing to that are older Sonys.Ģ. ![]() ![]() If you actually like iTunes then obviously this isn't a plus for you and you can stop reading and contemplating a DAP. Interface - it doesn't use iTunes, and the biggest request when the X3 was being developed and touchscreen models will go through the stored files almost like a smartphone. ![]()
